Psychotherapy is a way to heal emotional wounds and move towards growth and greater wellbeing I offer a flexible, caring and non-judgmental approach to psychotherapy that is founded on collaboration and effective interventions. I appreciate that each person is unique, as is their life path and goals for treatment.
I have 15 years of experience working with people experiencing anxiety, depression, thought disorders, parenting and other relationship difficulties, substance use, self-defeating / self-destructive behaviors, and/or the effects of trauma and abuse.
The therapy framework is psychodynamic which means that we will work together to understand how previous experiences impact current relational patterns and ways of responding to stress. I employ techniques from other treatment approaches when clinically indicated and based on patient preferences. These may include mindfulness meditation, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), or Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT). My work with younger children includes play therapy with ancillary parenting / family support.
Please do not hesitate to contact me to discuss treatment options in greater detail.
